- ➤ Chesapeake planning staff recommended conditions on May 13 for a new Costco at Greenbrier Mall that will replace the vacant Sears building with a gas station and tire center — a project seen as boosting local convenience and property values pending final council approval. 3 WTKR
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Virginia's Department of Conservation and Recreation purchased nearly 900 acres of Suffolk forestland and will add another 1,000 acres later this year to restore longleaf pine trees and create a wildlife corridor. Officials will replace many loblolly pines with longleafs using controlled burns and other forestry techniques. WHRO
