- ➤ Downtown Norfolk neighbors gathered Sunday evening for National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day, walking 0.7 miles from City Hall to Freemason Street Baptist Church where the Norfolk Street Choir performed. Organizers honored those who died while experiencing homelessness to inspire community compassion. 3 WTKR
- ➤ Families impacted by incarceration attended Santa’s Workshop Saturday in Portsmouth at the Sheriff’s Training Academy, hosted by the MAN Foundation and Sheriff’s Office to strengthen family bonds through a festive dinner and children’s activities. 3 WTKR
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday evening, Norfolk Fire-Rescue crews controlled a fire at a multi-family row home on St. Paul's Boulevard in Young Terrace; two adults were displaced while no injuries were reported and the cause remains under investigation. 3 WTKR
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Starting Jan. 1, Virginia will enforce laws that expand free cancer screenings and limit social media use for kids under 16 to one hour per app. Parents may adjust the limit and the next Assembly session begins Jan. 14. 13 News Now
