  • Keep Norfolk Beautiful’s holiday elves hosted three pop-up litter cleanups on Dec. 03 to spread holiday cheer; events took place at City Hall (810 Union St.), Kroc Center (1401 Ballentine Blvd.), and Lafayette Park (3500 Granby St.), where participants could win prizes and receive a hot drink ticket.  City of Norfolk

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Norfolk School Board will review an updated long-term plan next week that outlines school closures, redistricting and campus transitions across the city. The plan starts with closing Willoughby Early Childhood Center and Norview Elementary in the 2026-27 school year, and it includes benchmarks for student support and public input.  3 WTKR

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The guided-missile destroyer USS Gravely returned to Naval Station Norfolk on Dec. 13 after a four-month deployment where it supported missions for Southern Command in the Gulf of America and the Caribbean Sea. The ship can fight in air, on water and under it.  3 WTKR
