A fire broke out early Sunday morning at Old Dominion University’s Welcome Center (corner of Hampton Boulevard and 49th Street) and was brought under control by Norfolk Fire-Rescue at 9:37 a.m.; no injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.

A large presence from local fire crews (working on the roof) was seen at Old Dominion University's Welcome Center (corner of 49th and Hampton Boulevard) on Sunday morning.

Officials said the situation is developing.
