- ➤ As millions of drivers hit the road today for Thanksgiving, AAA reported the state average for regular gas dropped to $2.88—down 7 cents since last week while Norfolk now averages $2.91. Prices are lower in Gloucester and Southampton at about $2.75 and $2.76, and premium gas costs near $3.76. WAVY

- ➤ After months of training and maintenance completed last year at Naval Station Norfolk, the USS McFaul’s 300 sailors will deploy Tuesday—families lined the pier days before Thanksgiving to bid farewell. Navy officials said the guided missile destroyer is expected to be at sea for six to eight months with its destination yet to be confirmed. WAVY
