- ➤ Norfolk’s Winterfest on the Wisconsin at Nauticus, which opened on Nov. 14, will compete on ABC’s The Great Christmas Light Fight on Dec. 18 in the Heavyweights category, promising a dazzling light display. - ➤ Volunteer information is now available for Norfolk’s Sail250® Virginia event, a major celebration honoring America’s 250th Anniversary that will take place along the downtown waterfront from June 19th to 23rd, 2026. Thousands of local volunteers—from civic groups, military units and corporate teams—will support activities such as the tall ship fleet, Juneteenth celebrations and Norfolk Harborfest’s 50th Anniversary. - ➤ City crews in Norfolk began extending bike lanes on Granby Street from Willow Wood Drive to Admiral Taussig Boulevard to improve safety after several fatal accidents in recent years.
