The Virginia Zoo is offering free tickets to federal employees during the government shutdown — tickets began Saturday, Nov 8 — while guests pay only half price and children younger than two get in free; all federal workers must show a valid government ID to claim the offer.
Kingdom Shears Salon in Suffolk offered free haircuts to federal workers affected by the shutdown starting Sunday, Nov.
9th, after inviting employees to bring their work IDs. Co-owners Elnora Hughes and Adrian said they will continue the service each month while the shutdown remains in effect.
