- ➤ Norfolk Naval Shipyard is partnering with Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and Eastern Shore to host Feeding America’s Shipyard food distribution today at 2:30 p.m.—federal employees, military personnel and contractors can pick up one 35 pound food box from the Building 74 parking lot or the Building 464 loading dock. Each box contains frozen meat, fruits, vegetables and nonperishable items, and attendees are urged to bring a cooler. WAVY
- ➤ The Virginia Department of Transportation warns that dark roads and deer mating season increase crash risks—drivers should slow down, use high beams, and heed posted signs in rural areas. The agency urged drivers to avoid swerving to safely reduce the danger. WAVY
