Dominion Energy filed new long-range projections that show how it will meet growing power demand and follow the Virginia Clean Economy Act.

A new study found that attorney fees for eviction cases in Virginia increased sharply over the past years—fees have often reached $1,000 per hearing, which makes it harder for tenants already struggling to pay rent and late fees.

Housing advocates say the high fees, seen most in Hampton Roads cities, have worsened financial hardship and call for clearer fee breakdowns to protect renters.

The IRS has adjusted tax brackets for inflation so that even if incomes rise with prices, Norfolk taxpayers may see little change in their rates — those earning the same may benefit from standard deductions now set at $32,200 for married couples and just over $16,000 for singles.

Hampton Roads Transit and Suffolk Transit will offer free rides on November 4 to help voters get to the polls — the service covers all routes including buses, light rail, ferry and paratransit.
