COMMUNITY NEWS

Donations will help meet essential needs during Breast Cancer Awareness Month—providing critical support to those rebuilding their lives.  WAVY
  • Revive Center—located in a former commercial building on Poplar Hall Road near Military Circle—is offering food, fresh produce and clothing to local residents as government funding cuts and policy changes leave more families with food insecurity. In partnership with Calvary Revival Church, its CEO Alexander McBath said demand has doubled and the center is bracing for a hard winter.  WAVY
  • Drive Safe Hampton Roads is offering free 757 Sober Rides powered by Lyft during Columbus Day weekend to help prevent impaired driving after 2024 alcohol-related crashes caused four deaths and 66 injuries in Virginia. Kiggans introduced a bipartisan bill called the Pay Our Public Shipyard Workers Act to make sure that workers at the Norfolk, Portsmouth, Puget Sound and Pearl Harbor shipyards get paid during the government shutdown.
