- ➤ Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares said text messages from candidate Jay Jones describing a hypothetical shooting of former House Speaker Todd Gilbert are disqualifying and too extreme. He added he rejects Jones’s apology and said his duty is to stop political violence — Jones reached out to apologize directly. WAVY
- ➤ Naval Station Norfolk has delayed the USS Truxtun’s return because of operational reasons, according to the U.S Navy. The guided‑missile destroyer left on March 15 and was set to return tomorrow with 300 Sailors—but its new return date is unknown. WAVY

- ➤ Starting Jan. 1, Sentara Health will stop offering Medicare Advantage plans — which include Non-Dual Medicare Advantage, Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug, Chronic Condition Special Needs Plans and HMOs — for patients in Virginia and North Carolina to help manage rising costs. Patients received letters with next steps and must choose a new insurer when open enrollment begins on Oct. 15. 13 News Now
