EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Maegan Cahoon founded Maverick Learning Center in Virginia Beach in September 2022 after her son was diagnosed with autism and no suitable program was available—today the nonprofit serves 24 students with a 6-to-1 student-teacher ratio. The center is hosting a Back 2 School Bash at Afterglow Brewing today to raise funds for supplies and future expansion—Cahoon hopes to add grades 9 to 12 and new programs including art, music, and STEM.
