ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Norfolk Police said a crash occurred Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of E Virginia Beach Blvd. and Kempsville Rd in Norfolk—several people were taken to hospital and one vehicle overturned. WAVY
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Maury High School was placed under lockdown Tuesday after a person was seen with a weapon around 1 p.m.—Norfolk police said the brief measure ended without further incident. WAVY
- ➤ Norfolk authorities report that the Medical Examiner ruled the cause and manner of Naval sailor Angelina Resendiz's death as undetermined—she was found dead June 9 after being reported missing on May 29 and another sailor, Jermiah Copeland, is in pretrial confinement in connection with her case. - ➤ Norfolk detectives are seeking help from the public to identify a man linked to commercial burglaries at 333 Waterside Drive on August 18th and 999 E Waterside Drive on August 22nd—if you recognize him please call the Norfolk Crime Line. City of Norfolk

- ➤ A portion of Elbow Road will close for paving from Salem Road to Round Hill Drive/Orchard Hill Lane from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Aug. 28 and Sept. 2 as part of the Elbow Road Extended Phase II-B and II-C Project—traffic will be detoured via Round Hill Drive, South Independence Boulevard and Salem Road with Sept. 5 set as a backup date if weather delays work.
