- ➤ Gov. Glenn Youngkin said today he is open to asking for a federal waiver to stop SNAP benefits from buying candy and soda as part of efforts to improve children's diets. Twelve other states have gotten such waivers—critics warn that restricting choices may hurt low-income families and lead to extra administrative costs. 3 WTKR
- ➤ Virginia Beach City Council discussed a stalled project where Hampton Roads Transit and VBDA ended negotiations on a $130 million bus facility at Corporate Landing — officials warned that delays risk $5.5 million already invested and future savings and jobs if a new site with proper stormwater capacity is not identified. Negotiations have been on hold since VBDA ceased discussions and HRT now seeks alternative land to secure the project's regional benefits. WHRO
