The Virginia Department of Health reported 162 cyclosporiasis cases Monday and noted an increase of 36 cases from the previous week (about a 25% rise) with 37 cases pending classification.
Health officials remind Norfolk residents that although the illness can cause stomach cramps and diarrhea, severe outcomes are rare.
