- ➤ A federal judge convicted four people on Wednesday in a 127-count indictment for a drug trafficking conspiracy that used a Newport News auto shop as a base—law enforcement seized nearly $400,000 and 1,000 pounds of marijuana between August 2020 and August 2023. WAVY
- ➤ Police said a shooting on Saturday near 26th Street and Llewellyn Avenue in Norfolk’s Park Place neighborhood sent a man with serious injuries to the hospital—authorities are still investigating the incident. 3 WTKR
- ➤ Norfolk police responded to a shots fired call at the Food Lion on Tidewater Drive in the 7500 block near East Little Creek Road on Saturday at 8:39 p.m.—two front store windows were shattered as officers investigated the incident. 13 News Now

- ➤ WHRO will lose about $2 million in federal funding as the Corporation for Public Broadcasting ends support on Sept. 30 — station President Bert Schmidt said the station is not closing but will adjust operations and rely on community help to meet its public media mission. 3 WTKR
