- ➤ Crews in Norfolk responded to a residential fire on Sewells Point Road today by arriving at 1:38 a.m. and extinguishing a small bedroom blaze by 1:50 a.m., with three occupants self-extricating and no injuries reported—investigation is underway to determine the cause. WAVY

- ➤ Norfolk faced an extreme heat warning on Sunday as the heat index exceeded 110 degrees, and officials opened several cooling stations until 8 p.m.—the community service board extended its hours to help residents avoid heat-related illness. WAVY
