- ➤ Teams from the Savanah Bananas partnered with Chesapeake nonprofit Roc Solid Foundation to build a playset for nearly one-year-old Fisher Blankenship—a local child fighting cancer. They built the playset Friday, revealed it at Harbor Park, and then moved it to his home so Fisher and his older brother can enjoy it. WAVY
- ➤ Just hours before a game at Harbor Park, players from the Party Animals & the Firefighters built a playset for Chesapeake boy Fisher Blankenship who was diagnosed with cancer in February. The playset will be taken to his home with signatures & positive messages from the team. 3 WTKR
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A car crashed into a 7-Eleven on Chesapeake Boulevard in Norfolk Friday morning—police report the driver lost control at about 7:40 a.m. with no injuries reported. WAVY
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Virginia Beach Police said that a four-day gang bust across multiple Hampton Roads cities from July 14 to 17 led to more than 70 indictments, including charges for gang participation, recruitment, weapons violations, and drug distribution+ with several law enforcement agencies collaborating on the operation. 3 WTKR
