🏛️ Government
Dominion Energy is launching a state-mandated pilot program using smart thermostats, chargers + batteries to help control grid power in response to rising energy demands.
Regulators will decide later this summer if the virtual power plant pilot should move forward, with it running through July if approved.
Federal, state and local leaders broke ground at Jefferson Lab on a data center that will house a DOE-funded High-Performance Data Facility – using AI to link research data from across the country and speed up scientific discovery.
The state provided $49 million to help complete the project by 2030.
