- ➤ Evelyn’s Wildlife Refuge in Suffolk took in six orphaned baby otters after their mothers were killed—one in a traffic accident and another on a golf course. Wildlife rehabilitator Cindy Lakin said the otters need care that includes learning to swim and receiving fish donations to prepare them for release. WAVY

- ➤ Norfolk International Airport has upgraded its Mother’s Room by adding a comfortable lounge chair with footrest, a microwave for warming bottles, a dimmable lamp and sanitizing wet wipes — the room now also offers a 'Notes of Encouragement' initiative to let mothers leave uplifting messages, and guests can use any of the three Mother’s Rooms located in the pre-security area of the Main Lobby and at each concourse near the gate areas. - ➤ Foodbank of the Albemarle said it will need to supply 13.5 million meals if a Senate vote cuts SNAP benefits by 10%, warning that tougher work requirements could leave families in northeast NC and Hampton Roads with harder access to food. Lawmakers will vote on a bill that shifts SNAP spending to states and trims $230 billion over 10 years (local officials urge residents to contact their representatives). 13 News Now
