  • Harborfest is set to take place from Friday to Sunday at Town Point Park with free live music, fireworks and family-friendly activities. Several parking garages—MacArthur South, Fountain Park, Waterside, MacArthur North, Main Street, Town Point, Boush Street and W. Plume Street—will accept cash, debit, credit and digital payments while nearby streets will see parking adjustments from Thursday to Sunday.  3 WTKR

CRIME NEWS

  • Norfolk police are investigating a late-night shooting on Chesapeake Boulevard Tuesday—one man was injured with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and taken to a nearby hospital while no suspect has been named.  13 News Now

  • Another View will celebrate Juneteenth at WHRO Studios on Thursday, June 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The free event offers live storytelling, historical insights, and snacks from local + Black-owned food trucks with registration encouraged.  WHRO
  • Today, the Virginia Beach Vocal Jazz Summit begins at The Z in Town Center and runs through Sunday, offering jazz workshops, panel discussions and jam sessions that honor Ella Fitzgerald’s legacy—designed to help vocalists of all levels learn and perform.  WHRO

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Langley Federal Credit Union increased its financial commitment to NSU to $200,000 through the Langley Scholars Demand Fund and will extend its support through 2030—this renewed pledge builds on a partnership that began in 2024 and funds student scholarships and academic programs.  Hampton Roads Messenger
