- ➤ A subcontractor died at General Dynamics NASSCO-Norfolk Thursday morning after a personal health issue—a spokesperson confirmed there are no public safety concerns and noted the worker was male. WAVY
- ➤ At 6:58 a.m. Thursday, Norfolk Fire-Rescue responded to a fire that started on the lowest level of the parking garage near Norfolk Scope Arena and Chrysler Hall with the sprinkler system already active and the fire put out before crews arrived — officials later used a large fan to clear the area and stopped entry. 3 WTKR

- ➤ Norfolk police are asking for help identifying a suspect captured on video stealing items from a tour bus parked in the 200 block of E Main Street on May 3—if you recognize the individual, please call Norfolk Crime Line or submit a tip via the P3Tips mobile app—to aid the ongoing investigation. - ➤ Virginia Natural Gas plans to invest $30 million at the Atlantic Treatment Plant in Virginia Beach to convert wastewater biogas into renewable natural gas that can power about 4,000 homes in a year—if state regulators approve, the project will add about 40 cents to monthly gas bills and cut methane flaring. - ➤ The Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority is hosting a public event Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Slover Library’s Community Engagement Room — where three finalist firms will present visual proposals to revitalize Young Terrace and Calvert Square — and will offer limited transportation for residents, with final decisions expected after a July planning workshop. 13 News Now
- ➤ USS Truman’s strike group is set to return to Norfolk this weekend—fighter units will arrive Saturday at Naval Air Station Oceana and the carrier will dock Sunday at Naval Station Norfolk. Acting Chief Naval Operations Adm. James Kilby explained that in February the carrier launched a 125,000-pound air strike against ISIS targets in Somalia and carried out 670 strikes in the region—despite losing three F/A-18 fighters in separate accidents.
