  • A LendingTree analysis found Virginia experienced about 159 coastal flood events each year because of its large low-lying land and long shoreline. The study ranked Virginia third in overall risk and highlighted vulnerable areas like Hampton Roads and Accomack County while urging homeowners to consider flood insurance and property improvements.  WHRO
