Virginia Beach City Council approved a request to seek a referendum on the city's voting system by a 7-4 vote, meaning voters may see this issue on their November ballots.

Norfolk approved a Mayor’s Commission on Housing that will develop specific action plans for the city’s housing issues following a housing study presented in 2024 + the eight-member panel, led by Councilmen Jeremy McGee and Carlos Clanton, will set detailed strategies for public housing redevelopments and developer requirements.
