ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A house fire on Beacon Hill Road displaced five people Friday night when heavy smoke led residents to evacuate (all exited safely) and one firefighter received treatment for minor injuries (cause remains under investigation).  13 News Now

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Norfolk State University broke ground on a new $118 million science building to replace the old Roy A. Woods Science Building — the 131,376-square-foot facility will have new labs, classrooms and spaces for teamwork. The building will be finished in fall 2027 — it will give students and the community better ways to learn and work together.  WAVY
