- ➤ Virginia Media papers won 80 awards from the Virginia Press Association contest on Saturday—nearly 30 of which were first-place honors for reporting, photography and advertising work. - ➤ Officials recently broke ground on the third phase of Kindred in St. Paul’s, a redevelopment project that will build a new $85 million, 191-unit mixed-income apartment complex with 73 units for former Tidewater Gardens residents — a move aimed at continuing city efforts to renew housing in the community. Developer Richard Sciortino said tariffs could delay construction, with this phase expected to finish by the end of 2026 and final work complete by mid- to late 2027. Daily Press

HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Clinicians in Hampton Roads said that a change in Tricare’s billing system on Jan. 1 has stalled payments to veteran mental health clinics, forcing some providers to stop services or ask patients to pay out-of-pocket. Nearly 1,000 patients have been affected and two clinics have closed as providers urge immediate payment and policy changes—worrying that the delays will harm care. The Virginian-Pilot
