- ➤ A man was shot on the 1800 block of Berkley Avenue Ext. Tuesday night—he was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries—and Norfolk Police are investigating the incident. 3 WTKR

- ➤ Raymond Jones will host 'This Just In' this Saturday at 8 on WHRO-FM 90.3 to feature new classical music releases—Bach’s Magnificat in D, Christian Sinding’s Symphony No. 2, Mahler’s Symphony No. 5, and a new rendition of Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis using the Wanamaker Organ. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Virginia schools and food banks will lose federal support for a farm-to-table program that provided $13.6M in funding since 2022—state officials said funds will continue only until July 15. Local groups and farmers, who used the funds for fresh produce and meat distribution, now face the need to seek new resources after this summer's harvest. WHRO
- ➤ Motorists using Chesapeake 168 Expressway southbound experienced lane closures yesterday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. near Mount Pleasant Road and will face closures today from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. near the A&C Canal—bridge repairs require these adjustments. WAVY
- ➤ Norfolk set up a display of hundreds of pinwheels outside city hall on Tuesday to mark Child Abuse Prevention Month—city leaders and the mayor participated to remind everyone of the ongoing work to protect children from abuse. 3 WTKR
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ City officials, the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority, and developers will break ground on the third phase of the St. Paul’s Transformation Area at Kinship at Kindred on April 10 at 2 p.m. at 430 Church St — the project will offer 191 units, including 33 replacement dwellings for Tidewater Gardens residents, and is expected to be completed by December 2026.
