- ➤ On March 19, the Norfolk School Board adopted Superintendent Dr. Sharon Byrdsong’s $772.9M budget that gives full-time contracted staff a 4.5% raise, raises teacher starting pay from $57,500 to $60,088, and offers a 2.2% bonus for top-paid employees—adding funds for a new Equity and Excellence Learning Center at Southside STEM Academy and extra security measures.
