- ➤ Thursday marked the final day of Norfolk Fitness and Wellness Center in Ward's Corner as the aging building closed for demolition to prepare for a new $67 million complex. The new facility will include a 25-yard pool with eight lanes, a lazy river, splash pads, gym areas, and a full-service library—construction will begin in about six months and it is expected to open in fall. 3 WTKR

- ➤ A woman—Heather Cummings—was found guilty of second-degree murder for killing her 81-year-old mother at a Norfolk nursing home and her sentencing is set for June 27. 13 News Now

- ➤ The Perry Glass Studio at the Chrysler Museum of Art reopens today after an 18-month, $30 million upgrade. The space on Grace St.—now bigger with a 190-seat hot shop—will host free events, live glass demonstrations and a gala this weekend. WHRO
