- ➤ Norfolk Parks & Recreation released the Spring 2025 Good Times Course Guide on March 24th; it lists courses in aquatics, athletics, music & dance, visual arts, fitness & wellness, senior programs, special events & therapeutic recreation with limited printed copies available at community centers until March 26th. The Summer guide will be published in late May. City of Norfolk
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Glenn Youngkin had until 11:59 p.m. Monday to act on bills passed by the General Assembly, including a state budget with a $1.1 billion tax relief package that gives single taxpayers $200 and joint filers $400—he aimed to eliminate the car tax but did not secure full support on that measure as lawmakers prepare to consider his recommendations in Richmond next week. 3 WTKR
- ➤ The new Chesapeake VA clinic will open on April 17th with about 150 employees and will reach full staffing by January 2026. Lawmakers say the staff numbers are too low and VA Secretary Doug Collins said the gradual start is normal—he added patient care will not suffer and he may cut staffing by 15 percent nationwide. 3 WTKR
