- ➤ Norfolk Fire-Rescue responded at 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday to a fire at a duplex on 20th Bay Street that fire marshals said was caused by improperly discarded smoking materials and treated one person for minor injuries before installing three smoke detectors. 13 News Now
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Norfolk jury convicted Anton D. Williams Jr. of armed robbery — he was also convicted of conspiring to rob a bank teller using a threatening note and resisting arrest. City of Norfolk
- ➤ Keith Bryant’s retrial for killing a William and Mary student entered its second day of testimony on Wednesday as defense attorney Mario Lorello argued that a Norfolk Police detective had withheld key documents—raising questions about the trial—while evidence linked shell casings to a 9mm Glock used in the crime. - ➤ Zaria Gassaway, the student body president at ODU, led a two-year effort to install monuments honoring the Divine Nine groups on campus.
