CRIME NEWS

  • Norfolk police responded to an unknown incident in the 800 block of Wide Street at 5:17 a.m. on Saturday+ a local photographer reported a heavy police presence+ the area was taped off.  13 News Now

SPORTS NEWS

  • Worcester clinched the series victory with a 2-1 win on Saturday when former Admirals goalie Michael Bullion made 27 saves — his second win against his old team in two nights. The win gave the Railers two victories in the three-game series — with 4,672 fans watching at DCU Center in Massachusetts.  Daily Press
  • Norfolk State University defeated Howard University 68-56 in the 2025 MEAC conference tournament championship at Scope Arena on March 15th, 2025 — with Makoye Diawara and teammates celebrating the win — as the game ended yesterday.  Daily Press
  • Nansemond-Suffolk Academy beat North Cross 11 to 3 in baseball on March 16th as Joseph Petry stole three bases to drive the run surge. Meanwhile, Greenbrier Christian improved to 4 to 0 in softball with a 10-inning win decided by a walk-off home run and The Heights defeated Norfolk Academy 13 to 8 in boys lacrosse—showing a strong weekend for local teams.  The Virginian-Pilot
  • Norfolk State came from behind to beat South Carolina State 66-65 in the MEAC Tournament championship on March 15th, earning its first NCAA Tournament berth since 2022. Christian Ings led the Spartans with 16 points and sealed the win with a free throw in the final seconds—confetti fell as players hugged on the court.  Daily Press
