- ➤ Officials at the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission are inviting residents to complete a survey that lets them allocate an imaginary $1,000 among 19 regional issues until March 31. - ➤ Virginia lawmakers passed a measure requiring public schools to present the factual account of the Jan. 6 Capitol attack without false claims — if Gov. Spanberger signs the bill, the law will take effect immediately. WHRO
- ➤ Chesapeake and Hampton are now offering on-demand rides via Hampton Roads Transit after pilot programs launched on Jan. 12. Riders can book through the HRT OnDemand App or call the service and pay $2 per trip in selected zones that cover major work and entertainment areas. WHRO
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Norfolk is finalizing a master plan to redevelop Young Terrace & Calvert Square in the St Paul’s area. The plan, expected in four to six months, will support mixed-income housing that lets displaced residents return, with construction targeted for Fall 2027. 3 WTKR
