72-year-old former Iranian Navy pilot Moe Razavi, who lives in Hampton Roads, said many Iranians hope for freedom and democracy as families struggle to get basic supplies amid ongoing conflict.
He stressed that Iran’s government does not represent its people.
Officials at the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission are inviting residents to complete a survey that lets them allocate an imaginary $1,000 among 19 regional issues until March 31.
Responses will shape the new Hampton Roads Horizon strategic plan (designed to guide local future spending).

Norfolk is finalizing a master plan to redevelop Young Terrace & Calvert Square in the St Paul’s area.
The plan, expected in four to six months, will support mixed-income housing that lets displaced residents return, with construction targeted for Fall 2027.
