Norfolk’s Larchmont civic league has selected a site along Monroe Place for a historical marker honoring former resident Jimmy Carter.

The marker awaits final approval from two commissions and City Council and will be unveiled later this year, likely in summer or fall.

WHRO-FM will air the first part of Berlioz’s Les Troyens, titled La Prise de Troie, this Saturday at 1 p.m. as part of the Metropolitan Opera’s season; the 1974 performance highlights legendary conductor Rafael Kubelík and brings a historic take on Troy’s fall on-air and online.
