- ➤ Many retailers in MacArthur Center mall are scrambling to find new spaces before the mall closes June 27 as the city has given them roughly four months to relocate. The redevelopment plan will include market-rate housing, hotel rooms and retail spaces (set to revitalize downtown). WHRO

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Two Norfolk-based Navy ships collided in the Caribbean on Wednesday, leaving two sailors with minor injuries while the vessels were refueling supplies. Both ships are now sailing safely after emergent repairs. 13 News Now
- ➤ Local and federal officials will soon begin a three-year study to consider extending the coastal floodwall to Norfolk’s Southside after community groups raised concerns about protection. The Army Corps of Engineers received $500,000 through a congressional earmark (rep. Bobby Scott) to reexamine the project. WHRO

- ➤ On Aug. 8, 2025, Dr. Deepak Talreja saved 64-year-old Jeffrey Geraci in Virginia Beach by performing hands-only CPR after he suffered a heart attack while driving — his quick action kept blood circulating until EMS arrived and he was taken to Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. 13 News Now
