  • Norfolk's Antonio Dowe, his company Global Music Touring and rapper Fam-Lay join Clipse in Los Angeles for Grammy weekend as they team up with Billboard Magazine to highlight 757 talent. Local leaders will also discuss regional growth at the event.  3 WTKR

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Norfolk Public Schools announced that Jeff Rose (Ed.D.) will become superintendent on Feb. 23. He is set to oversee the district’s consolidation plan for closing and repurposing schools amid declining enrollment.  13 News Now

  • A dangerous winter storm will hit the region from Saturday into Sunday with snow and below-freezing temperatures. Local schools, businesses, and the Norfolk Botanical Garden have canceled weekend events while on-street parking is removed for plowing operations.  13 News Now

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Norfolk crews treated roads with salt and brine in preparation for a potential storm that may bring strong winds and several inches of snow this weekend. Plow crews will clear key routes like Brambleton Avenue and Military Highway today—residents should avoid the roads to let crews work safely.  13 News Now

HEALTH NEWS

  • Virginia's free and charitable clinics in Hampton Roads are seeing record numbers of uninsured patients as ACA coverage drops, and the Virginia Association of Free and Charitable Clinics is pushing for a $15 million increase in state funding to cover rising dental care and other health needs.  WHRO
