- ➤ At Norview High School on Wednesday, Norfolk Public Schools unveiled Phase 1 of a consolidation plan – reassigning hundreds of students to new campuses for the 2026–2027 year. The plan will be reviewed by the School Board on Feb. 18 followed by a public hearing on March 4. 3 WTKR
- ➤ Norfolk Mayor Kenneth Alexander was named interim president of Richard Bland College by its Board of Visitors on Wednesday, with his term starting May 11 as current leader Debbie Sydow's term ends June 30; he will advance the college's 2028 academic plan (supporting regional employer partnerships). 3 WTKR

- ➤ Norfolk has secured a $25 million grant from the Virginia Community Flood Preparedness Fund for its Resilient Norfolk Coastal Storm Risk Management project, which will fund flood mitigation measures for nearly 1,000 properties and enroll 62 Tier 1 pre-eligible homes in February. 13 News Now
